Silicone Oils/Silicone Fats
Silicone oils are clear, colourless, chemically inert, hydrophobic liquids that maintain a stable temperature over a wide range. They are excellent electrical insulators and have a low surface tension. Their many and varied uses range from refrigeration technology to fermenters, distillation plants, oil diffusion pumps and transformers. In vehicle construction high-viscosity silicone liquids are used for torque transmission in Visco clutches.
